Ancestry.com
Ancestry.ca Sets you up to take your money

Internet & Web

A common scam... Ancestry.com &.ca offer a so called free 14 day trial to use their services. You have to give your credit card information. Then, if you don't remember to cancel the account within fourteen days, you automatically get billed for a year's subscription (nearly $120). If they are offering 14 days free trial, it should be with no strings attached. Furthermore, they grow their data base not only for free, but at our unsuspecting expense, as it is we (the buying public) who uploads information and then potentially also pays ancestry.com. There are geneaology sites to do not charge at all. As the public gradually loads these data bases, Ancestry.com will seem less like the best game in town.
