Smarterer
Fake job ads

Internet & Web

This startup based in Boston, called "Smarterer" is spamming my local Craigslist jobs section with their fake job ads. They're trying to drive traffic to their website and they're doing it in an incredibly slimy and sneaky way.

How do I know they are fake? They are always bulleted, they all use the same terminology, NONE of them have names of real companies attached to them (it's always something like "a local travel agency"/"marketing company" or something vague like that) and they all have shortened URL links that lead to their stupid website.

If you see a job add that has a link sending you to Smarterer to take "skills tests, " don't bother! It's a waste of your time. You'll never hear back from the company they made up. Don't give them the pageviews. This is a disgusting way to start your business, Smarterer. Getting people's hopes up about a job search? Really pathetic.
