Ripoff rebate memory ram scam

I bought some Shecom 256MB PC133 SDRAM from Fry's Electronics in Fountain Valley, CA in September. I mailed in the $30 rebate with all the requested information. I waited four months, because the rebate form specifies that "rebates checks will be mailed in approximately 120 days".

So four months later I get a card in the mail from the rebate processing company that says "the receipt you submitted was dated after the qualifying period for this promotion". I assume that this was some type of clerical error and I call in to the rebate processor. They inform me that they are no longer handling these rebates.

I call in to Shecom directly and and the operator transfers me to Rick, who she says is handling the rebates. He tells me there was some mixup and after I fax my info over to him, he tells me that my rebate is on its way. It didnt arrive by the middle of February, so I wrote in... No response. I left phone messages... NO RESPONSE.

I finally got a live voice on the phone in March, at which point I was informed that Rick was no longer working for the company because of his mismanaging of the rebate situation. I am transferred to Fred, and I get his voicemail. I leave three messages over the next two weeks and get NO RESPONSE. This is not an isolated incident. I have a friend who has also been scammed by this company, and I have noticed several other posts online from people who have been scammed by them also.

I am going to go to Fry's and see what they can do to collect from these crooks. This worked once before when Columbia Communications tried to scam me out of a $100 rebate. Fry's collected the rebate for me. If you have been scammed by these crooks also, please post your complaint here.
