Seo.com advertised "top rankings". The sales rep, Chase, told me that I would likely see results within 20 days, that I could target as many keywords as I wanted in as many territories as I wanted (i.E. Google France, Yahoo UK, etc.) and all for only $150 in a month. His pitch was look at how well our company ranks, seo.com. (It comes immediately after Wikipedia and Google listings, which is impressive.) So I signed up.
The next day, the person that actually does the work calls me. He asks me what keyword I would like them to go after, as in one single keyword. I then told him how different what he is telling me is than what the Sale Rep said. One of the specific keywords I discussed with the Sales Rep, he says would cost over $2,000 / mo. I then call bs and demand my money back.
A few days later, Colton, and then later the same day Sterling, call me and I have basically the same conversation with both of them. They say that they want to give me a refund but that I have to sign some papers stating that I won't give them a negative review in order to get my money back. They say that the credit card company requires it.
Of course, I refuse and threaten to call my credit card company if they don't immediately refund my money.
Sounds like a well oiled scam to me.
