800-205-9198 RIP OFF via BUY.com Free Magazine Trial (Keywords: VIPSUBSCRIPTION or 800-205-9198)

I few minutes ago while reviewing my online card activity for my Credit Card I noticed that I had a charge for $92 from (check this awesome description out -I'm VIP-):

I HAD NO IDEA WHERE IT CAME FROM! So I typed in the phone number in Google and I found this website that told the story of numerous other people that have been ripped off the same way. I red the stories, felt ripped off and was daring enough to call the automated service. However, I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card # to an automated service so I hung up and continued to read this consumer complaintss for advice. After reading a few of them I realized the key is the following:

STEP 1) Call whichever # appears on your credit card.
All of the 800 #'s I saw on this site including the one on my statement (800-205-9198) seem to lead to the same automated service.

STEP 2) When the first YES or NO question is asked by the automated service say the word "REPRESENTATIVE".
This will allow you to have a warm body to help you with your refund and/or to verbally abuse them for the doings of their employers.

STEP 3) No matter what they suggest simply ask the representative for a full refund of the charges to your card and have them cancel all of the subscriptions they have on file for you.

NOTE! When bypassing the automated service I DID NOT HAVE TO GIVE MY CREDIT CARD # TO THEM! I gave them only my FULL NAME and complete STREET ADDRESS. This was enough for them to know what 3 magazines I asked for for FREE on Buy.com 3months ago and initiate the refund to my credit card. I DIDN'T GIVE MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO THEM OVER THE PHONE!

Luckily according to some of the other reports they do return your money and cancel your subscriptions. I'll let you know what happens with me.
