Credit Check Deposit Despite 740 Score on Advertised Special

After getting several promotional pieces in the mail from ATT, I applied for one of their great specials to get UVerse and internet service. Much to my surprise they declined to give me service unless I put down a substantial deposit based on a credit check. I have a credit score (FICO) of 740, which is very good and no one in their right mind would turn down business for a credit score that high. I actually run a retail business and we set our credit requirements pretty high with a cut of of 650. Apparently ATT is doing misleading advertising as almost no one will qualify for their special deals and they use that to sell you on something else or to get a big deposit out of you. What a ripoff.
