I recently assisted an elderly friend of the family with his finances before he went into a nursing home. The elderly gentlemen was 76 years old and very confused.
In reviewing his checkbook, I found a check for $1,000 to Turn-key Systems of Tempe Arizona. Upon further investigation, I discovered that Turn-key Systems had solicited a "website" to be setup for this elderly man. There was a letter from Mr. Orlando Brown of Turn-key Systems indicating that an E-Bay site and Hotmail email account had been setup for my friend for a fee of $1,000. My friend did not own a computer and did not know how to use a computer.
Of course, both the E-Bay website and Hotmail account are free services, so Turn-key charged this elderly gentlemen a fee of $1,000 for something that is normally free. My attempts to contact Turn-key have been unsuccessful. The number they provided has an answering machine. They have not returned multiple calls.investigation with the Better Business Bureau of Arizona indicates that Turn-Key has a long history of multiple consumer complaints.
