Ailed to deliver goods and services as promised

After reading the other posts regarding A. Patton, Tony Patton, DoWap, or whatever he is calling himself these days, I felt compelled to share my story. My unfortunate experience with Tony was several years ago, but I know that he is still up to his old tricks. I learned very early in the game that he is not to be trusted when it comes down to business. This is a really sad fact, because I think he is a likable guy - and I guess that is the root of the problem. Tony seems think that because he can shoot the breeze and kid around with you, you will overlook his shortcomings - and trust me THEY ARE NUMEROUS! The other scenario - and this is even sadder - Tony feels that no matter how bad he screws up, "Black Folks" will always give him a pass - because, of course, we need to help each other. HAHAHA
Anthony has ventured into the print media arena on several ocassions. His first stab at it was "New Orleans Black Offline". The media kit sold this as a business publication, blah, blah, blah. The publication date for the first issue was due in January (please forgive me I do not remember the year). My company purchased an add to promote events taking place in New Orleans during first quarter of the year. We submitted our artwork and payment promptly. The publication was not printed nor distributed until JUNE of that year!!! I repeatedly called and asked about our add, stating that it was useless due to the material being time sensitive. I was bounced around from one employee to the next. Tony would not respond to phone messages or emails. When I finally did get an opportunity to speak with him, he acted as though I DID SOMETHING TO HIM!!! He was very arrogant and never agreed to refund even a portion of the cost of the ad!!!
I learned a very good lesson that day. Currently hold the same position with my company and I still have the responsibility for buying ads and sponsoring events. I have been approached numerous times since then by Tony and his associates about doing business, buying ads, sponsoring events, etc. I amazes me the gall that he has to even approach me about anything! I am still very cordial to him, but I have not forgotten how he did not deliver on his end of a business contract. Maybe he has a selective memory, but I assure you, I DON'T!!!
That being said, just off the top of my head I can think of at least five people that had the same experience with Tony. New Orleans is a very small city and eventually things will catch up to you. I think that I happening to Mr. Patton as we speak. I guess that is why he changes the name of his company so often!!!
