Clerical Services
Nick Brauer Portrayed self as "ad response business" and asked for money for "training materials"

Internet & Web

I found a work at home ad when I searched the KansasWorks job site for administrative assistant positions. A person calling him/herself Nick Brauer of Clerical Services responded saying, "We are seeking self-motivated individuals with the desire to work with online advertising."

The person asked for $9.95, paid through a Pay Pal account, for training materials on processing typed responses. I sent the money and received instructions on how to make money by pulling the same scam on others: how to word false ads to fool job seekers, sample employment advertisements, and a list of web site to target.

This is a pyramid scheme. The only way to earn money is to re-send the the bogus training materials (and they are very good training for fledgling scammers).

The scammer states more than once that it is "not illegal to provide this service." Obviously, he/she knows full well all he/she's providing is a scam.
