Cincinnati Bell
Billed for non-existent account

Internet & Web

Cincinnati Bell has been billing me for a non-existent account for as long as two years. Apparently CB took over the billing and accounting for another company called eGIX, Inc.

I had a dial-up Internet account with eGiX that was deactivated nearly two years ago, but CB continues to send me bills for an account that doesn't exist... Hasn't existed. The amount of the monthly bill is miniscule—52 to 70 cents. I usually ignore it.

Today, July 17, I tried to reach CB's customer service billing department to get them to delete the supposed account. I waited on hold 30 minutes before giving up, calling the corporate office and finally speaking to someone who tried to help, then disconnected me.

While I waited on-hold, the recorded message said someone would be with me "in one to two minutes." No one ever answered—ever. The one person I did eventually talk to... Calling long distance to the corporate office, was in business phone sales, obviously not the right office, but at least someone answered the phone. She told me it's MY problem and I need to resolve it. Not quite. It's an accounting problem between eGIX and CB... Again... For an account that doesn't/hasn't existed.
