Allows unauthorized use of my email address

A person used my email address to buy a domain name from Go Daddy. When I started getting emails about the purchase and contacted them, Go Daddy customer service told me to use the public Who Is tool to find the person and contact her myself about correcting the problem because they couldn't make any changes to an account.

I am angry that I had to spend time doing research and making long distance phone calls in an attempt to resolve the issue. It seems to me that corporate responsibility would dictate that Go Daddy contact the buyer and notify her that they have received a complaint stating that the email address she filed is not hers.

To date it is unclear if the person made a simple typing error or if she is doing something unsavory as well. But my email address is fairly unique and I am therefore concerned about the buyers motives. I did do the research and have left a voice message for the woman who made the purchase but have not heard from her.

Clearly Go Daddy doesn't care about having correct or accurate information on their customers. Nor do they care about assisting www users with protecting their personal information -they just want their money.
