CD Earth
Deceptive sale

Internet & Web

I bought a software disc the program named Ubuntu. It cost five dollars. It was all done on the internet. The open source operating system came in a few days. I saw on the card statement I had been billed five dollars which was expected.

Several weeks later I saw that my card had been billed fifty nine dollars and ninety six cents. The phone number of the company was on my bank statement so I called and asked them what this was for.

I was told that I had subscribed to more discs thus the charges. I then remembered that I had recieved several discs but I thought they were free discs that had been mentioned on one of the wrappers. I further told them I would return the discs I had recieved. They told me there were no returns or refunds. They offered to cancel my subscription.

I think this method of selling is unethical and they should be punished.
