1-800-GeeksOnTime - Geeks On Time
Owes me almost $600

Internet & Web

Hi,
I did service work for Geeks On Time. Granted I never did a lot because it always took so long to get paid. I did about $2,000 worth of work spread out over two years.

I never was paid by Geeks On Time when they said they would pay me. I would have to start calling them. I usually waited ninety days and started calling and somewhere between four and six months after the work was completed I was paid.

It's not so bad waiting to get paid for labor. But, they also make you buy the parts required for the job and then charge them on the same invoice with labor. Even if you pay with a credit card, you have to pay for the part yourself in 30 days. So you end up providing free credit to Geeks On Time on top of what they owe for the work done.

When you invoice for hardware Geeks On Time does allow you any profit margin you want to put on there. I'm interested in providing a fair charge to the customer, because whatever I mark it up, GOT will mark it up again. The funny thing about that is the one time I got stuck with charges for hardware the GOT service adviser didn't want me to mark up the part very much. If I had known I was going to go unpaid for so long I would have padded it enough to make it cover the interest charges on my credit card while I waited to get paid.

That all should have been a red flag. I should have stopped doing work for them after the first call and super late payment. But, I needed to make a living and I kept hoping things would get better.

It didn't.

Geeks On Time owes me almost $600 for work that was done in February and April. I've never seen a dime and the only one with any integrity to even call me back was Micheal Lewis, VP, Director of Service Management. He was very nice about it but I never got a straight answer as to why I was paid and when I would be paid.
