Doesnt pay invoices

I have done many jobs for this company. The las t payment rec'd was in Aug 08 and paid me up to july. As of now, I have 1k owed me since July and cannot get a respose from AP. I do have one email that responds but she cant do anything to help. Lawsuit is prob out of the question. Can't get blood out of a turnip! Im in for doing what I can to get paid if anyone has idea's!
