Winweb Security
False alert leads to malware installation

Internet & Web

What looked like a virus attack alert from my Windows security system was a bogus alarm that prompted me to allow a partial installation of an anti-malware system. It kept harassing me over and over. It proved very difficult to remove. The remove program function didn't have a listing. After finding it with a search; deletion was ineffective. Disk clean-up didn't help. I finally got rid of it with system restore. I will be watching my credit card statements very closely. Beware!
