I applied on yahoo hotjobs for a position that read exactly like this: Account Representative/Clerk/Data Entry and it paid $18-$20/hour. The company's name was GAD Tech inc. They sent me an email that read:

I got your Resume on Yahoo Hot jobs and it is still Under Review. Below are the necessary information required of you before being approved by the management. And i will also love to know if you will be able to carry out the mentioned activities below.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in dealing with the public.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
- Experienced in working with money.
- Excellent communication skills.
- "highly organized".
Duties and functions to be carried out by you:
Prepare deposits for funds received in the Controllers Office.
- Audits Checks and payment slips for accuracy.
- Enter into the Cashiering computer system all cash received and disbursed for each day transactions.
-Make bank deposits daily.
- Review and process travel expense vouchers for accountability and proper authorization.
- Processed payroll in the Managers absence.
- Customer transactions.
I Also Have a few questions to ask:
Do you have office Equipment at home. I.E. Fax Machine, Scanner, Computer and Internet.
- Do you have another Job and if yes, Is it a full time Job or a part time Job.
- Will you be able to dedicated at least 4 hours per day between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm.

AFTER I responded to her email I got this:
Hello Michelle,
While your resume is still under review, I have forwarded your Resume to Mr Bressin he will Like to conduct an online interview with you to discuss more about the Job Position that you are yet to occupy.
Set Up a Screen name with the Yahoo Instant Messenger and add up the company screen name: joe. Gdtechinc to your buddy list.

THE funny thing is my name isn't even michelle! So I emailed her about that to make sure she had the correct person and this is what she responded:
I am sorry for the Error, i was with my little daughter Michelle while i was sending the message. Have you added Mr Bressin to your Buddy list. 2pm is fine with him.

Ok basically there were a lot of red flags telling me not to trust these people. First of all the interview was bull. Why would someone ask you your full name? First of all they should already have that information if you applied for the job and second of all why would they ask your location if they should have that also. I told him I didn't feel comfortable giving him any of my information online and that he should have it anyway since I did send my resume. He said they asked all this information to keep track of thier new hires. I looked up the company and found other people who had fallen for this mess. First of all anytime anyone is asking you to give them your information you have to be cautious. ALWAYS look them up! If you cant find them then most likely they don't exist. With the internet today if they were a real company they'd be listed somewhere online. Also, always wirte these reports! If you don't other people could fall into the hands of these predators!
