Beware of returning items with this company, they want to take your money, not refund it! Salt lake city utah

I couldn't wait to write a report and join the others who have had similar situations regarding returns with this company, but i first wanted to make sure that my "partial" credit at least went through...

I had purchased a pair of pants that i really wanted to take on a vacation with me, only to find out when i got them, they were a size too small on me. Well, by then, vacation was only days away and there would have been no time to possibly get an exchange that quick... Well, i really did like the pants, so i returned them (at my expense) for a size bigger, i just wouldn't have had them for vacation. I figured by the time i got back, the new pants would have been here...

Boy, was i in for a surprise! Instead of my new pants being here when i got back, i instead received a lovely email from overstock stating that they received the pants, but they would only credit me for half the price of the item, since they were "slightly used" (as they put it), and if i wanted an exchange, i would have to begin a new order since there wasn't enough "funds" to do an exchange!

I was furious!!! What do they mean by "slightly used" anyway??!! Because i opened the plastic bag it came in to try them on? How else would you know if a piece of clothing fit without opening the bag, i mean really!!?? I was, and still am, so upset by this, i emailed them back and told them they can keep their "slightly used" clothing, and that i learned my lesson and will only be going to where clothing should be bought, at a department store, where you can at least try something on and they won't "upcharge" you for doing so, and to take my account out of their system, as i won't be shopping with them anymore...

I probably should have addressed it further, but noone knows how frustrating it could be until you're in a situation that you just want to be done with.By the time i paid for my own shipping to return the pants, less the "partial" credit they actually gave me, i basically lost everything i originally paid, except for about $5.00. If i had known it would have come down to that, i would have just kept them and gave them as a gift to someone (that they would have fit!), and at least got my money's worth.

Never again will i deal with overtsock.com, where they just want to take your money and not give it back! As the old saying goes, "buyers beware"!!
