Huge RipOff Will not give back initial investment

I signed up online with Legit Online jobs to type ads for companies at home. I received a call from a man from a company from the same web site called Divese Marketing. He was offering me a chance to make lots of money with my own web site. I signed a contract and gave them $2300.00 and then decided I didn't want to do this type of job. The contract had a cancelation clause in it and I did exactly as it stated to do, however the owner of Diverse Marketing is a very rude man and says he will not let me out of the contract. I have contacted Legit Online Jobs also (which is out of Florida) but haven't heard anything from either company. I will now contact the attorney generals office, the BBB in both states and office of consumer rights. These people claim that they run a very legit company well I don't call this very legit!!!
