Lies about speed

I live in a rural area. Before having HughesNet installed, we asked if that would be a problem. We were told as long as we had a view of the southern sky it would be no problem. We asked the installer when he came if the view was ok and he said yes. This service has NEVER been fast in any way, shape or form. Most times it is as slow or slower than Dial-Up. Trying to talk to Technical support is a waste. The people are hard to understand and just seem to run you through all sorts of "tests" with no solution.

It was $400 to have this system installed and to me it was a waste of money. The advertisement on TV is, in my opinion, false advertising. I know several people in my area that are having the same problem. We are now checking around for another provider. I will even go back to Dial-up if need be.

My advice: Do NOT get Hughes Net.
