Unauthorized membership fee of $49.95 charged to my credit card

I authorized a payment of $2.95 for a report of freelance homewriting opportunities from Freelance Homewriters. Within a week a charge of $49.95 for lifetime membership appeared on my Mastercard. I had not authorized this payment.

There was nothing sent to me that allowed me to access any information on homewriting opportunities. On attempting to access information from their website, you are returned to the advertisement for $2.95 for information.

I have written this company an email requesting my credit card be credited as well as wirting a letter copying the BBB of Miami. I attempted to call the number on the website and got an automated service asking that you leave a voicemail or press "3" to access the freelance homewriters. The phone rang 15 times with no answer. I have contacted my credit card company for a dispute form as well.

Companies such as this one should not allowed to operate on the Internet. There is no indication that this charge will be processed on your account and there is no method of contacting them once you discover the charge. There is an "8-week money back guarantee."
