Undeletable pop-ups are so annoying

Like Larry from Tucson, I read somewhere that Stopsign would give us a free virus check. It took forever.

When it was all done, they found spyware — about 40 cookies. Nothing else. This was in 2004 or maybe even late 2003.

But they left their child.

Now, everytime I go online (about twice a day), there arrives their nasty stopsign popup. When I cancel it, another popup comes to ask me if I am sure I want to do this.

I have tried many times and different ways to get rid of this aggravation, but another popup says that this program is "write-protected" and cannot be deleted.in my files it is called sys_alert. With the stop sign logo (icon).

Of course, I am sick to death of these people. I tried to email them to ask how to get rid of it, but no answer.

I am open to suggestions to get rid of the anti-virus virus.
