Mysoftwareprovider.com
Confidence trickster. Sold me free software on deceptive website

Internet & Web

My experience is similar to that of others. I was trying to put Firefox on my wife's new Mac, and clicked on a site that said something like "download Foxfire". I was surprised that they charged me $50 for a three year subscription as when I last installed Firefox on a computer it was free. Aiding the deception, the Firefox icon was prominently displayed on the site. To make things worse, Firefox would not install. After reflecting on all this I carefully selected a Mozilla site and easily downloaded Foxfire free. I then tried to contact "mysoftwareprovider" to cancel and found that the only way to contact them is filing a ticket. The answer was very evasive, asked for a lot of irrelevant informtion, informed me that requests for cancellation were examined on a case by case basis and service charges would apply if my request were granted. At this point I cancelled my credit card. After ten years of doing business on the internet, this is the first time something like this has happened to me. This site is a real rip-off for the unwary. Don't go near it!
