Go Antiques
Barely meets my idea of an auction Cyberspace INternet

Internet & Web

I have tried to buy a number of items on the Go Antiques website as offered through ebaylive.in every case I have noted that as soon as I enter a bid which matches the opening bid there is a 'floor bidder' that bids the low end of estimated sellinp price. It is not uncommon for an auction house to provide an estimated range they believe a particular item will sell for. For example, Go Antiques will show an opening bid of $200 with an estimate of $700 to $1000 being the reasonable selling price.

So, on occasion I've put in an opening bid.in my example case this would be $200. Immediately the next bid from a 'floor bidder' is in this exzmple $700. Since these auctions are only internet based there is no "floor". How can there be a floor bidder? I've have never had another internet bidder put in a bid some where between mine and the estimated minimum. There is no auction.

Beware, if you bid on one of these auctions the real minimum in the low end of the estimated selling range. That number is really a reserve the seller has put on the item. However that little fact is not revealed anywhere.

Ebay should be ashamed of themselves for hosting this pseudo auction.
