Email saying I had a delivery coming-prepaid, of a Multi Purpose Food Processor Appliance

Internet & Web

I was almost fooled into clicking the link that said confirm - because it is nearing Christmastime, and I have ordered tons of things already, and because my mother and other family members like to direct ship things to my home for my children, spouse, and myself.

I was tipped off when I noticed that it used my maiden name (last name) that I haven't used for ANYTHING in over 6 years. Anyone who knows me that would send me any kind of gift would not use that last name.

Further down in the email they state "There is a second insured parcel being shipped from a different location: Claim the second parcel for Lisa." That doesn't make any sense. If there were more than one thing, it would've all been listed together. Seperate link to click, seperate info in each link.

It looked odd. And I trusted my instinct, and did a google search for Delivery Prepaid by Sender - low and behold I'm not the only one who has gotten this, and almost fell for it.

Never trust these types of emails. Most of them look very official... But there is always something that will tip you off - are you expecting anything? Does the "from" address on the email look odd? Usually they do. So-buyer BEWARE!
