Fraudulent Phone Bill Charges

OAN Services of Florida apparently has a long history of fraud. If you contact them, you will be told that you are speaking to a lowly customer service rep who can do nothing and an administrator will call you back. The call back never happens.

My daughter, who is a minor and not authorized to commit anything to my phone bill signed up for their bronze web hosting for 7.95 (ironically enough I am a webmaster and have my own server). She was not even living in my home when she did this. They have refunded one month of billing and refuse to return the rest.

Their web site states:

Letter of Authorization: By Clicking the "Order Now" Button below, I confirm the information submitted and that I am 18 years old or older and I am duly authorized by the telephone account owner to make changes to and / or incur charges on this telephone bill account provided. Further I confirm my understanding and approval of the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of this offer. The website hosting and email service is the option and price you have selected above (Bronze, $7.95 per month), (Silver: $9.95 per month), (Gold, $12.95 per month), or (Internet Service, $24.95 per month) and the charges will appear on your local telephone bill on the OAN Services page (or in the Qwest regions it will appear on the ESBI bill page) as being billed on behalf of aDigitalVillage.com, LLC unless you cancel. You can cancel at anytime by calling Customer Service at 800-841-9070 or by emailing us at support@aDigitalVillage.com or writing us at aDigitalVillage Processing: PO Box 160, Sartell MN 56377.

However, in this day and age where verification of information is quite simple they do absolutely NOTHING to prevent fraud. Further, when fraud is discovered, it is simply not their problem.

The physical address is no doubt a post office store where they receive mail and not in fact their physical address.

If you have been ripped off by this company, you should file a complaint with your local state's public utility commission as they are using a utility company to rip you off.

I currently have filed complaints with the domain registrant, email provider etc.

Calling them directly is pointless.
