Fraudulent billing from out of the blue Internet internet

Internet & Web

AOL sent me an email over a year ago saying they were partnering with Verizon as AOL would no longer be billing for their service. I was hesitant at first because I just knew Verizon would charge more. But they didn't charge more than AOL said they would.

Last week I get an email from AOL saying they are billing my bank account for internet service. How can this be when they said it was free?

Their rep said because I was getting high-speed internet through another provider I would now qualify for their "free service". Is this legal?
