Large Scale Phishing Operation Ripoff

This is a large scale Phishing operation.

Here is how the scam works.

They offer Web Templates for FrontPage, DreamWeaver and Word press.

They offer attractive templates at bargain prices.

Business owners looking to save a dollar (the bait) purchase these templates and the modifications which typically consists of changing the company name and slogan.

The sting occurs when they route the credit card transaction offshore typically to the Ukraine for processing.

There is no warning that you are now leaving the United States and in a country notorious for Fraud.

You enter in your credit card information and click pay.

Chronopay the credit card processing company notifies you that the your failed to authenticate.

During our testing which consisted of six attempts to authenticate the card, they never contacted our bank for the actual authentication.

They now have all your credit card information and whatever else you were foolish enough to provide.

If you don't notify your credit card issuer immediately they will use the card.

This scam works best as they aged the card. That is they don't commit the theft of identity and associated fraud right away, they wait a short time to let the card cool off.

This is part of the Template Monster Empire which consists primarily of Indians and Pakistanis and has quite a few websites on the Internet.

It is sad that we have run our of criminals in this country and we have to resort to importing them from abroad.
