Charged Credit Card without permission after canceling, promised refund of unauthorized charge still no refund

I signed up for a $25 rebate on my next purchase through Buy.com which gave me a 30 day free trial of GreatFun! Discounts. I have not seen the free rebate, nor any benefit since signing up with GreatFun! I have not used the service and when I called in mid-September the first time but did not get the representatives name but they gave me a cancellation number of xxxxxxxxx and I thought I was done. The first representative even asked if I had received the rebate and said they would get it right out to me plus refund the $9.99.

On 10/19 I was angered to discover another charge on my MasterCard account from GreatFun leading to this complaint. I called GreatFun! Immediately on the charge and spoke with an Ashley who proceeded to give me the run around as if I did not say my account was canceled which is why I called, she was extremely rude (like the AOL fiasco) and after three or four attempts (in spite of my demands to just cancel the account) she told me to hold so she could talk to her supervisor, then came back tried again to get me to not cancel but finally gave me another cancellation number xxxxxxxxxxxx and promised it would be refunded like the first time in 10 to 15 days. As of 11/9/06 NO REFUND.

I have since done a little research and found there are NUMEROUS complaints about this company and its parent company Trilegiant Corporation which even mentions GreatFun!

I have already submitted a complaint with our State's Consumer Advocate for the Attorney General. I am a bit concerned after seeing this plus others who have been ripped off by this company. These are persistent complaints going back to 2001 so it is hard to understand why these people have not been shut down, even changing addresses and phone numbers.

Last I have contacted both Buy.com since my original transaction through them asking they remove GreatFun but have received no response from Buy.com. I want anyone who has signed up with GreatFun to see what a rip off they are, and recommend canceling them immediately.
