Free Music Library is anything but! It's a spam-generating scam

I play with a music group and we are often looking for new music to purchase or, in some cases, download for free. We have purchased dozens of pieces of music in the last year, and also downloaded some for free.

In searching for some specific music, I came across this site free-music-library.org / and wanted to see what was in their catalog. The home page promises:

"Sign up for FREE access to a comprehensive
collection of links to thousands of Sheet Music files. Our site is 100% free."

All they require is that you "sign up" which means that you give them some info, then complete a "survey on our sponsor's web site" and then, supposedly, you then have access to sheet music downloads.

Well, as it turns out, the surveys are awful, and keep on going. And there is no way out of the surveys. After I filled out a few pages, and started losing my patience, I tried to find a way for this to end. But there was no way for it to end: it just keeps looping back to the beginning. Total scam.

Then, to top it off, the email address I used to "sign up" was bombarded with spam email. Then I figured it out: the survey was only there to narrow down demographic and preference info, and then use it to send me spam emails. That's what "Free Music Library" meant by their "sponsor".

Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience and I hope that others do not sign up on their site. I had to cancel that particular email address because it became virtually unuseable after that.
