Internet & Web

On March 20, I joined a website at 4nocash.com that promised free gifts such as iPods and gift certificates for completing online surveys and offers. I completed a couple of offers, and requested a $50 gift card as a gift. Some time later, I recieved the $50 gift card.

I then completed more 'offers' in April, which cost me over $50 to complete. For this, 4nocash promised me $160 as a reward, in the form of a $100 gift card and a $60 check. I did not recieve the reward in a timely manner, so I e-mailed customer service to find out if there was a problem. They said the reward was approved and would ship shortly.

I waited quite some time, and nothing showed up in the mail. I looked up my account on 4nocash.com, and it said the order had shipped, but no additional information was provided. After waiting at least another month, I sent out an e-mail to customer service through their website asking about its status, and the e-mail went unanswered, as did 2 additional e-mails.

I then looked up the owner, Michael Richardson, and contacted him personally after finding out he was a minor living with his parents. He refused to confirm he was the owner, despite being listed as the owner in a previous customer service e-mail I recieved, as well as being identified as the owner on third-party websites.

Furthermore, the contact phone number given for 4nocash matched Michael Richadson's personal phone number, indicating that that individual I contacted was, in fact, the owner of the webiste. When I confronted him with these facts by e-mail, I recieved several replies stating that the advertisers associated with 4nocash refused to pay 4nocash, and so 4nocash refused to pay me, despite previous promises, and my account was deleted from the webiste.

I contated his local BBB, and he didn't reply to their inquiries. I doubt a teenager can have a credit report, so contacting a collection agency will probably be futile. I hope that the record on consumer complaints and BBB will serve as a warning to anyone getting suckered into 4nocash.com.
