Ripoff, dishonest

On 3/12/06, I downloaded program for the free people PC service. I talked to a representative that asked for a credit card, and when I asked why if it was free, she said we wouldn't use it unless I didn't cancel within 30 days. I tried the service for 24 hours, and decided I didn't want it. I called the next day, 3/13/06, and cancelled. I was assured there would be no charges. I got the reference #, hung up and forgot about it till my credit card for April came. 6 month charge for 49.95. Called on 5/11, talked to rep, (I have her name and employee ID), and she said it missed the cut-off, and the credit would be next month.

May Statement, no credit. Called and talked to supervisor, (Have name) and was told he doesn't know why it didn't get credited, I said who do I talk to, he said I'll give you an address only in San Francisco. I asked for a name, he said no. I went to look up Peoplepc on the internet and found that I'm not the only one, so here I am, complaining with the rest of you. I called my credit card company and reversed the charges. Don't do business with this unethical company.
