Aol
Their teck support caused my computer to crash, it ruined the harddrive, had my dsl turned off

Internet & Web

A company employee of AOL, commonly called tech support, caused my computer to crash.

The repair bills amount to about $400.00 plus.

I called AOL about this and one manager hung up on me. Another said I was right that their tech support does that all the time.

AOL agreed to give me 1 month free service. That was before I found out what it would cost to repair my laptop.

I called them back and they said to write them a letter and send a copy of the bill. My letter went to: AOL Corporate Office, 22000 AOL Way, Dulles, VA 20166.

The letter that they sent back to me came from Georgia. It stated that I am at my own risk when using the internet.

It was "not" the internet that crashed my computer. It was their "employee". Since when is a company not responsible for their employees?

I filed a complaint with the New York State Attorney General's Office. AOL sent the same letter to New York State Attorney General's Office that they sent to me.

Then, AOL turned off my dsl, and never informed me of this. I have a digital phone via dsl. I have had to pay for a service that I could not use for over 2 weeks.

I talked to Verizon and I was told that AOL had it turned off. Then, Verizon e-mailed me to let me know that they did not have it turned off.

I have been told by several computer tech companies in my area that AOL has done this to many, many consumers and they are getting away with it.

I am looking for consumers that want to contact the New York State Attorney General concerning AOL. And, I am looking for consumers around the US and beyond to start a class action suit against AOL.

I am on a fixed income and I cannot afford the bills and damage that AOL has caused me.
