Internet & Web

I responded to an internet "survey" advertising a store gift certificate. Unfamiliar with how these work, I found you have to agree to respond affirmatively to one or more of their "sponsors" — at different "levels" in the survey. I quit before completing the survey because each "level" sponsor wanted more money. I did however, get as far as accepting a "Free trial sample" from Lean Look Rx, for a mere $3.95! The terms were very very fine print, which only said you could cancel within 14 days of receipt of your sample. Well, Nine days later, they charged $106 to my account! When you go online to complain, they send you a so-called "auto response" — however, it is interestingly designed to say something like The terms of the agreement were clearly visible when you accepted the offer. And they lead you to a popup of huge print terms. Clearly, these are not the terms listed in the survey's ad for their site. When you try to cancel, they say you cannot until you have accepted and paid for the first 60-day supply. This is clearly not what was visible when you accept the $3.95 offer. If you try to sign up again, with a different email, etc., they have cleverly tracked & recognize you as an existing customer and the same large print terms will pop up. You will not find the fine print deception that you did during the survey offer. You think you're dealing with reputable offers because of the survey company. False. And very clever that their 'terms' change once they have your internet info. Foolishly, i did not print out their fine print terms, although I did read them. You will never find that version again once you have accepted the "free offer"—they have specifically disingeniously designed a special Terms page that will appear once you complain to them via e-mail.
