Rebate ripoff

I am convinced this is a rackett. After purchasing my HP Notebook at Office Depot my husband read about the rebate problems so I made sure that I sent in every single item they requested. I checked and rechecked then my husband checked to make sure everything was done perfect. About the time my check should be arriving (8 weeks later) I receive a letter telling me my submission was declined because I did not send the neecessary information. I called the number provided and was told that the letter was sent by mistake. I was told they would re-submit it again and I should have my check in 8 to 10 weeks. Obviously, they hope we will give up or just forget about it or they just want to hang on to our money as long as possible.

I sent in everything exactly like they requested and I am certain they automatically send a rejection letter to everyone first because they know most people don't have the info. Since they had to send originals. Something needs to be done about this. Also, Office Depot hhad a $100 rebate and I got a post card from them rejecting my rebate saying I didn't send to bar code or sales receipt. I told him it was attached to the form so how could they hsve the form. I am also filing out a complaint against them. Thankfully, I had copies of eeverything I sent in. Only because I was expecting this. This is fraud.
