BAIT & SWITCH: On May 2, I paid $424.99 for a wig auctioned on eBay by celebrityhair4u.com. When it arrived, I called Diedra (owner) to let her know how disappointed I was that it was significantly not as described on eBay.instead of a "beautiful hand-tied virgin Indian Remy hair" wig (or hair with the cuticle still intact.) The wig I received had a tag that said it was "yaky" hair factory made in China. The hair also had the look, feel, and texture of "yaky" or acid washed Asian hair treated with silicone. That was a huge difference in quality. After I returned the item, Diedra told me it was her policy not to give refunds, only store credit.

SCAM: To keep from loosing my money, I agreed allow her to use the $400 I had paid her as a down-payment on what she described as a better wig directly from her online store. Even though I repeatedly asked for an invoice for the total amount of the product, I never received one. She said the custom order would be ready by June 1st.

LIAR: Near the first of June, I again wrote to ask her about the status of my order and she emailed me a week later that the wig would be ready in 1 or 2 weeks. She said she would invoice me through PayPal which, of course, she didn't.

DISAPPEARING ACT: I emailed Diedra again on June 24th to ask for a refund because I had never received a product and she had not returned ANY of my phone calls or emails. Several days later, I received an email from her in which she gave all kinds of excuses — something to do with her business dealings with "the factory". She still refused to refund my money, saying at the end, "I hope you understand."

At that point, I realized that I was really being taken for a first-class, A #1 sucker. I immediately filed a dispute on eBay that escalated to a claim, and I won. However, because the time had expired for me to recoup the full refund under the PayPal Protection arrangement, I had to settle for the eBay Purchase Protection Claim, through which I could only get back $200.

I also had my attorney write to her demanding a full return of my money, but we never heard back from her. I also wrote to the New Jersey Attorney General's Office and filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Near this time, I was at in the process of relocating to another state, so I had to put this all on hold.

When I recently found your site, it renewed my determination not to just give up when THIEVES actually STOLE $400 of my hard-earned money with lies and deception.
