I recently purchased a 19" Acer LCD monitor from CompUSA's website while they were offering a $120 mail-in rebate. I carefully filled out all of the forms correctly and cut off the UPC code from the monitor's box. I sent all of the forms during the specified time period via USPS with delivery confirmation in a nice padded envelope. Then, yesterday, I recieved a letter stating that the submission was incorrect. It was supposedly missing a UPC. I called the number this morning and got a rep on the line. At first he told me that the offer I sent in was listed for a different item. After 10 minutes he figured it out and found the right offer. Then he proceeded to explain to me that the UPC code I sent in didn't match their offer. I explained that it came from the box that their website sent me. I offered to fax over the packing slip that has the SKU number on it that matches the offer but he told me they couldn't take faxes. I was told it could take 10 business days to resolve and even then nothing would probably happen. I made him escalate me to a manager who proceeded to verbally abuse me and tell me that I was wrong and that I need to call back in 7 to 10 business days to see what they say. I asked for a call back since they had made the mistake but she told me that their phones don't dial out! Some system! I work for a major software company and it never takes more than 2 business days to do ANYTHING! She yelled at me and told me that I was wrong and that I didn't have the monitor. I have all of the documentation but she insited on ripping me off! Buyer beware with CompUSA when it comes to rebates. They scam you and they keep your money!!!
