After reading all these other reports on Circuit City, I know I definitely made the right decision in NEVER shopping there again.

It all started when I just wanted to buy my first scanner. I was looking to spend up to $150 I just wanted a decent starter scanner with a transparency adaptor. I did my research on the web to find what was available, a good price etc...

I decided to stop into Circuit City to see what they had. They had a scanner that was on my list and at a great price. This was a weekday afternoon and there was one other customer in the entire store. This should have been my first clue.

After wandering around the computer area hoping one of the at least 6 employees I could see would come over to help. I finally walked over to the guy working in the CD area (who was busy reading a magazine) and told him I wanted more info on a certain scanner. He walked over with me so I figured he was going to help me. I told him that said scanner is supposed to come with a transparency adaptor, but I didn't see a listing on thier description of the product.

I was holding my list of scanners from home and he said "let me see that". I told him it was just my notes from home about scanners. He said he didn't know about scanners so he would get the guy from the computer department. (Shouldn't he have done this the moment I said scanner?)

After a 'short while' another guy came over. When I mentioned it having a transparency adaptor, he said 'a what?'. I could not belive it. I explained to him what it was and said that this particular scanner is supposed to come with one. He then said no, it doesn't. (he doesn't even know what one is, how would he know) Just like the other guy, he reached for my papers to see where it said that. At that point I decided I didn't want ANYTHING from this store, ever.

Happy ending, I found my scanner elsewhere for a lot cheaper and YES it DOES come with the adaptor!!!
I dont' expect these people to be geniuses, but a little basic knowledge would help!
On my way out, I was curious of their computer prices. They had the one I bought 2 months earlier on sale for TWICE as much as mine was! High prices and bad service, how does this place stay in business?
I have also warned all my friends to stay away from there no matter, and will continue to do so.
