Ripoff fraud blames others for their mistake

Bought a high price item on ebay and followed the ebay instruction to the letter, $2900.00.
After sending in payment as instructed and waiting for next day delivery notification (which never came), ebay service suport advised that the transaction did not go through them. They did, however, advise me that the seller had a deposit of $4,000.00 to prevent fraud. I am still holding the empty bag.
If this is the case, nobody needs to do business with e-bay.
