Weddingchannel.com - The Wedding Store
Ripoff wedding day hell never ship on time bad customer service runaround

Internet & Web

Iregistered for wedding gifts at Macy's department store. I was required to go on line to get to my gift list to make updates. Macy's contracts through a company called weddingchannel.com - they also do the gift registration for Bloomingdales and the like. This website company then proceeds to send you multiple junk advertisements... You can not mark them as junk emails so your filter will filter them out because you still need to check your wedding registration info. So naturally I look at the advertisements and find something I want to purchase. I take the time to log in on line and go through the somewhat cumbersome process of ordering.

Since my wedding and separate reception are coming up soon I pay EXTRA for the 2 day shipping through the website. I placed the order on May 12th. No where on the order confirmation webpage did it state that it would take longer than 2 days for me to receive my order. I received a confirmation email that my products are "will ship in 1-2 days" dated May 17th, 5 days after my order. I was flying out 6 days later for my wedding location so I assumed that it would arrive in plenty of time.

No package arrived in the 6 days I waited for it (plus 5 days from time of order). My wedding came and went. I returned from the wedding location to check my emails to see if there was any information. Nothing until May 27th, 10 days later.

My reception for the wedding was a separate event on June 11th... I did not cancel my order due the fact that some of the products I ordered could still be used for this date. The email I received on May 27th stated that my order "might be shipped in separate packages". Then a separate email arrived on May 27th stating that "my order was in process" with the Wedding Shop (I later found out this was the warehouse that actually ships some of weddingchannel.com's advertised products). Finally on May 31st I got an email stating that the order had been shipped and would "arrive in 1-2 days".

The products did not arrive until June 3rd. Needless to say I was very upset. I started emailing the customer service address to request a full refund of my shipping costs. I felt this was reasonable due to the fact that I kept the products and was still able to use some of them for their intended event date.

We played email tag and confusion for over a month!!! I attempted to also complain to Macy's headquarters as they contract through this company. They shoved me back to weddingchannel.com customer service. After dozens of emails back and forth, attaching all the original emails they sent me, I was instructed to call their customer service as they did not understand the nature of my request.

I did call in and bounced around 4 different times (after being on hold for over 15 minutes). I finally got a hold of the correct person and asked, very politely, for my refund of shipping costs. He refused and said I was only entitled to the EXTRA cost of the 2 day shipping. That was the last straw! I, very calmly, explained that this was the MOST unprofessional company I had ever done business with. As a Bride you want things to be less complicated and as an online shopper you were supposed to also make things more simple. As I explained this I realized I could not hear him on the other line. I said" Sir!?" He clicked back on and said he was talking to his manager. HE WASN"T EVEN LISTENING TO AT ALL!!!

He finally came back on to say that I would be refunded the costs of shipping, the whole cost... And then hung up on me after I replied thank you.
