Ripoff dishonest credit card billing

Internet & Web

I balance my credit card every month. Every few months there may be a small charge I don't immediately recognize or don't have a receipt for, so I'll let it go.

After 3 months I finally realized I was being repeatedly billed $14.95 by this mysterious AP9 Essentials company.

I called the 800 number and spoke with Lisa. She was polite, and always said, "I understand how you feel, " but kept telling me about additional offers for "members" such as myself.in turn, I kept telling her, "I'm not interested. I just want all my money refunded." Finally, after she had run out of fascinating offers, she agreed to refund me for one month, or $14.95.

I told her, "That's a good start, but I want the whole amount refunded." She connected me to her supervisor, David, who was also polite and also insisted that I was a member. I persisted in asking for my money back.

He said, "To show you I'm acting in good faith, I'll refund you another $14.95." I said that if he could do that, he could refund all of it. He told me he couldn't, so I told him I would dispute the charges with my credit card, which I did. I also asked my credit card company to put a watch on my account for any additional charges from AP9 Essentials.

I'm a pretty careful Internet shopper, so I don't really understand how I could have become a member. Not surprisingly, on their website's FAQs, they have a button for "How did I sign up?"

As near as I can tell, I may have accepted a free shipping offer from one of Essentials' partners (probably Target, in my case).in doing so, my info must have been given to AP9 Essentials.

Below are some of the ways you too may have signed up:
