SND Marketing
Ripoff, Faxing phoney invoices to our Accounts Payable dept

Internet & Web

My business has received this phoney invoice from SND Marketing numerous times this past week. Twice today alone. The cover sheet is attention to my Accounts Payable dept and is about internet listing, and in reference to website listing.

The actual invoice shows a description of services making it appear that this is needed for my domain name registration which everyone already pays for. The have our name, dates of service, and conveniently already have an account number for us to put on the front of our check to them. Sure makes it look like we have an exsisting account with them.

The do have in very teenie tiny print, carefully confused into the other wording, a note that this is not a bill, but a marketing offer. So why do they send it to the Accounts Payable instead of my marketing dept? Scam is why.

The offer no phone # on the website or "invoice" so there is no way of contacting directly, but they did leave the fax number on the fax so I returned the fax to them with a brief note to kindly remove me from the Fax Scam list. Most other Scam Faxes include a removal number on them, not sure if this is legally required or not.

Anyways, this scam falls into to the same class as those bogus yellow page ads, who's who, subscriptions, and other listing 'services' that appear as an actual bill. I always read them carefully as most are junk but we do have some suppliers which are faxing our monthly statements.
