Fraudulent unresponsive ripoff

Internet & Web

Like countless others who've filed reports on this site, I too was taken advantage of by Consumer Incentive Promotions. Here's a brief recap of what I've experienced to date:

Despite long being a skeptic of offers such as the ones advertised by CIP (e.G. "get a free laptop... Just complete x number of offers"), I signed up for CIP after my son had received several free items through a similar company (Gratis Internet, LLC). Unfortunately, I must say that my experience with CIP has been nothing like my son's positive experience with Gratis.

As always, I was very careful to read all of CIP's terms & conditions, and I proceeded to complete the requirements accordingly with CIP promising a free 32" flatscreen TV. I completed the survey, and signed up for 6 different offers (two on each page, as spelled out on the site). I logged back into the site a few days later and 5 of the 6 completed offers were showing up as complete. The only offer for which I hadn't received credit was PetCare RX, despite the fact that I had the pet supplies and invoice to prove that I had indeed placed an order with them.

To make a long story short, I waited the 6 weeks that CIP claims it can take an advertiser to report credit to them, but I was never given credit. I proceeded to email CIP via the webform on their site countless times, with nary a response.

After reading on usacomplaints.com, I was able to find CIP's phone number and called 6 or 7 times, leaving messages for numerous employees (including Will in gift fulfillment at ext. 139) but never receiving a call back. I also contacted PetCare RX and a customer service representative confirmed that I had indeed completed an order with them on 2/2/05 (I have the order number and left it in all of my messages) and said that they would again contact CIP expressing such.

With CIP's 90-day window (convenient how they include that, huh?) fast expiring, I have now sought legal counsel (looking into a possible class action) and will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the NC Attorney General's office, and the FL Attorney General's office. Additionally, my son works for a U.S. Senator and works closely with the FTC and DOJ. He is determined to do what he can to have these agencies investigate this company, should they continue to neglect my situation. I'm offering them the opportunity to rectify my situation before proceeding further.

I have documented all of my correspondence with CIP and will gladly update you all, should they respond to my inquiries.
