Ripped off by BestBuy, worst business practices

Internet & Web

Hello,

I, like many others, attempted to purchase a video card from BestBuy.com. The card was advertised as a "Preorder special" for $129.99. I received an E-mail the following day stating that due to a "system error" my order had been canceled. When I returned to the site the price was changed from $129.99 to $399.99. I understand if the problem was a pricing error, but I was lied to by BestBuy stating that it was a "system error." Currently they have assumed no responsibility and claim no fault for the mistake. They claim that the order cancellation was perfectly justified by the term of service agreement (a tiny text link located on the bottom of the page that I noticed only when directed to it). As a consumer I'm tired of seeing persons held accountable for their mistakes while corporations blame mistakes on a "system error" and assume no responsibility. Corporations worm out of their responsibilities with a legal disclaimer located in some obscure location and an army of lawyers, while online pricing mistakes are becoming an epidemic. I would appreciate it if you would investigate as to whether or not these are BestBuy's regular business practices or only when they have a "system error." I appreciate any assistance I receive. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Bruce Morgan
