Investor's Alley
Would not honor their money-back guarantee

I was searching for an investment advisory service and came across a few from Investor's Alley, specifically The Dividend Hunter, Options Insider and Options Profit Engine. I liked that Investor's Alley offered a full refund if cancelled within a year so I signed up for both subscriptions. Like usual, I was then given the "upsell" for more advanced and/or lifetime options of each service. I did, in fact, signup for The Dividend Hunters Insiders and the LIFETIME subscription to it and The Dividend Hunter. However, I was not that impressed with the two options subscriptions... in fact I immediately cancelled Options Insider, but figured I would wait and see if Options Profit Engine got better and set a reminder to cancel it before the year was up.

A week before my subscription to Options Profit Engine (OPE) as to auto renew, I contacted Investor's Alley and asked for cancellation and a full refund. I spoke to James and he said OPE was cancelled and the refund could take up to 10 days. Well, six days later, my subscription auto renewed? What!? I thought it was cancelled? So, I called Investor's Alley and this time spoke with Kristen... She said she would credit the auto-renewed amount and would escalate the original refund, too. Ok, great. An honest mistake.

Well, a month later, still no refund in my checking account and not communication from Investor's Alley. I call, yet atain. This time I spoke to Gloria, who had no answers and was very evasive... all she could do was take my information and have Alyssa give me a call.

2 weeks later, still no contact, and no refund. I call Investor's Alley and Alyssa answers the phone. She claims OPE never had a 12-month money back guarantee, and it was discontinued and replaced with some other subscription/service (not surprising as I thought it was less than desirable, anyway). I found evidence (via screenshots I took of the order form) that shows they DID offer a money-back guarantee on this product, so I emailed it to Investor's Alley. No response. They folks are amazing at dodging the issue!

2 weeks later, I call Investor's Alley AGAIN. Now, it is James who answers the phone. He says he has no notes of my previous calls. He reiterates, after placing me on hold and presumably speaking to a supervisor, that "there was never a 12-month money back guarantee, there is no recourse, and this is the end of the trail." What kind of customer service is THAT? He would not transfer me to anyone else and said he "had to go".

I'm was/am a paying customer for other products from this company... in fact LIFETIME purhase of two of their produts... and this is how they treat me? Unbelievable and unacceptable. But what can I do? File a claim in small claims court (i'm out $495, so no lawyer will bother with it)? I guess James was right, that I "have no recourse". So, I'm doing the only thing I can think of... letting other know of this company's shady practices and incredibly poor treatment of a paying customer.
