Access Micro ships defective merchandise, refuses to issue RMA Ripoff

In October I ordered a P4 barebones computer system from Access Micro Technology (aka The McGlen Internet Group). I was confident with my order because this company had a high rating on pricegrabber.com.

I was unhappy with this order from the beginning. AMT shipped me a system with a cheaper motherboard than what I ordered but charged me for the more expensive system. They promised to test the system for 24 hours before shipping, but believe that I received the merchandise too quickly for any testing to have taken place. (It took 3 days from Southern CA to SE Texas by UPS ground.)

This system never worked. I tried two AGP video cards, one PCI video card and two known-good monitors. When I tried to contact the company for help, I got nowhere with their voice-mail system or web sites.

I decided to return the system within their 15 day time limit. I made seven requests for an RMA via email (two email addresses), fax (two fax numbers) and phone. I received no reponse. So, I complained to their Better Business Bureau, (of which they are a member!) Someone called me as a reponse, but didn't issue an RMA; however, they told the BBB they did and tried to close the complaint. I kept the complaint open and AMT contacted me with an RMA on January 9. I shipped back the system, and they received in on Jan 15, but they have not credited my Visa account as of Feb 5. The BBB complaint has been closed, so I contacted them to reopen it. I plan to keep this complaint open until I get my money back.
