Ripoff Lies, bad service, switching out parts for cheeper parts

Internet & Web

The initial problem was that my netzero program crashed the system when I clicked on its icon. Everything else worked fine on my Windows 98 system. I took it in go get tht single bug fixed. It was "fixed" a few days later, for $217.89, ' but upon using it I found the program still was not right.

I took it back in while it was still under the 30-day warantee period, on a Wed. That Friday I was called telling me it would be ready by Monday.

The next Thursday I went in to get it after being told it would not be ready as promised. A teck told me they had not been able to get it to crash no matter what they did. I went over the problem with him and he promised to fix it that afternoon or by the next morning. That night the tech called and appologized to me for lieing and that they had not been able to fix the problem yet, but it would be ready Monday.

I went in Tuesday to get it, having given up on their being able to fix the problem. I was shown how it worked now that they had reinstalled Windows 2000 on it, but the netzero wouldn't work. I told them that I had never had Windows 2000. So I had to go home, a 40-mile round trip, and get my original disks so Windows 98 could be reloaded. That same afternoon they called saying both of my 40meg hard drives were bad and would have to be replaced.

I went back in to pick up my computer and take it somewhere eles and asked for my money back. They said they would replace the two hard drives at no cost and install Windows 98 for me. The next day I picked up the computer.

At home I began to install netzero, and all my other programs only to find out that netzero would not connect to the internet saying something was wrong with the modem. I called the shop only to be told it was a netzero problem and to call them.

I knew that was another lie and opened the box to see what was the matter. Besides some of the cables not being connected to disc drives, I found the modem was not the one originally purchased with the computer but was a generic Chinese modem 14.4 when I had originally purchased a US Robotics 58k modem. No wonder my setup softer for the 56K modem would not work with the Chinese rip-off.

The result is that I ended up paying 217.89 to have my system trashed and having to reload all my software by myself after going out buying a new modem and installing it myself. That kind of service by a company that sold me the computer originally is a real rip-off in every sense of the word. No

No one should do business with this company when its personall lies to your face, trashes your hardware, replaces the parts with parts of lesser quality, and admits lieing to your face.
