EMarket Research Group ripoff scam fraud and deception

Internet & Web

As other people have reported, I received an email stating that I would receive a Sony laptop if I completed two of their special offers from associated companies. I don't have any illusions about free laptops, but I looked at the offers and noticed a couple that seemed useful regardless of other rewards.

After completing those applications, and providing lots of personal information, I clicked the button at the bottom of the page and guess what? - here's another page that requires participation in two more offers. Again, there were a couple of things that I wouldn't have searched out but nonetheless seemed useful so I filled out applications for two more. Then... You guessed it, another page requiring participation in two more "top offers".

Only this time there weren't any more useful things to look at - a credit card for bad credit risks that requires a $180 fee, and something else equally useless. So now I'm obligated for four things (Blockbuster DVDs, Audiobooks, a Discover Card and I forget what else) independent of this eMarketResearchGroup scam company, and I'm sure that disentangling myself from these things would be more of a pain in the *ss than getting into it in the first place.
