Health & Medicine

I am a female without any health insurance, and I saw the following ad in the local classified ads...

Free Women's Healthcare Available at the Midwifery Service, 113 Main Street, Brookville, PA Again, these services are Free to all women with no health insurance coverage. Call 814-849-2233 to schedule your free appointment All services to teens 17 and under free too!

I think the "FREE TO ALL WOMEN WITH NO HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE" is pretty clear. So I go in, and was told there would be a very small fee for the visit. I had no exam, no tests, NOTHING but asked a couple of questions, and she ended the visit with a charge of $40!!!

Now, maybe it's just me, but doesn't FREE mean FREE? I qualify according to the ad, because I am a woman (which can be verified) and I have no health insurance!

This is not even close to fair, taking advantage of sick young women with no insurance coverage!!!
