Ok I'm sure by now most of us in the US have seen commercials for Suvaril, Avlmil all these "supplements" from Berkeley Nutraceuticals. Can get your free sample for $4.95 shipping! Ok so I bite, when you go to their website there is a paragraph of information about if you order the 30 days sample you are enrolled in their "Managed Care" Program, which means you will get a new supply shipped to you every 60 days if you do not cancel your enrollment. Fine, I read it, understood it, all I had to do if I didn't want to get the additional shipments was go to their other website to CANCEL my subscription.

I placed the order for two diffferent sample products, paid my $9.90 and complete my order. I then waited like 4-5 days and went to the website where you can cancel your orders. I canceled both products seperately, and got a confirmation page for both products stating that my subscriptions had been canceled. Ok sounds good.

Yesterday I am looking at my statement and there are 2 charges for $70 EACH from Berkeley! I tried calling but couldn't wait on the phone because I had some place I had to be. So i go to the website again and canceled my order. I called them today and their customer service department was the nastiest I have ever dealt with. They have a no refund policy according to their cust. Service dept, meanwhile it states on their website that they offer 30 day money back guarantee. They are telling me they can't take the products back, I said I didn't want them I canceled the orders. Of course they have NO RECORD of my "attempted" cancelations and only show record of my cancelation from yesterday. It's very funny how the website that CHARGED my credit card has no malfunctions, but the website that I went to to tell them I DID NOT want them to charge my card anymore only works half the time. HOW CONVENIENT!

They only offered me HALF of what I was charged and I said that is unacceptable, so it was either half or nothing. So needless to say I am disputing this with my credit card, which of course they have a policy about charge backs as well. There are loads of complaints about this company on all kinds of forums and I read it all beforehand but figured maybe these people did something wrong, like didn't read the information about being enrolled in that program. Now I see why they were so pissed off and rightly so. Furthermore their products don't even work. But you notice how they have tons of commercials peddling all kinds of remedies for all sorts of ailments. Sexual dysfunction, weight management, eye sight, fatique, etc...

I was aware something like might potentially happen when I made the order so I was not surprised to see the charges. I did take responsibility for my actions as a consumer, they however did not take responsibility for themselves. So I'm just giving everyone a heads up in case you are tempted like me because the commercials look so "convincing" like they are from an actual pharmaceutical company, which by the way they are NOT. They are a supplement company running a scam similiar to the type run by companies such as Columbia House.
