Skier's Edge
Blackmai, Extortion, or Compassion... You decide!

Contacted Skier's Edge to buy a pair of wheels to ease storage of this piece of exercise equipment. Skier's Edge refused to sell me the wheels ($69), unless I also purchase replacement "bands" ($185). They asserted that the bands needed to be replaced "for my safety" although they had not inspected the bands, nor did the bands exhibit any of the wear features shown in their manual.

Imagine going into the dealership where you bought your car to buy a windshield wiper and they informed you they would not sell you the windshield wiper unless you bought a new set of brake pads as well, even though they had not inspected your brake pads!

Apparently Skier's edge expressed concern for my safety by insisting that I replace perfectly good bands does not include concern for my back injury resulting from trying to move their heavy exercise machine.

So what do you think? Extortion or Compassion?
